CRIS CHIL MAKES HER ARTIST DEBUT WITH “SOLITA AF”
GRAMMY-nominated, multiplatinum songwriter and producer CRIS CHIL steps out from behind the pen and into the spotlight with colapso, her debut EP arriving today. Leading the project is “SOLITA AF,” an energetic and empowering perreo anthem. Fusing dembow, Spanish rap, and Anglo-influenced production, the track is a bold declaration of independence, celebrating self-love with the mantra “better alone than in bad company”.
“SOLITA AF is about reclaiming joy, finding power in being alone, and realizing you don’t need anyone else to complete you,” says CRIS CHIL. “It’s playful, it’s bold, and it’s me stepping into my own voice as an artist after years of writing for others.”
The single arrives with a dark, lo-fi short film, extending the project’s cinematic narrative. Across colapso’s three tracks, “Así Soy,” “Freezer,” and “SOLITA AF”, CHIL symbolically buries the past and embraces self-possession, laying the foundation for her four-part debut album (set to unfold across fall 2025).
Though new as a recording artist, CHIL is far from a newcomer. The Ecuadorian-born, Miami-based songwriter and producer has penned global hits for J Balvin, Kali Uchis, Sean Paul, Anitta, Selena Gomez, and Lauren Jauregui. She was named to Billboard’s Top 10 Latin Songwriters in 2021 for her work on Kali Uchis’ chart-topping smash “telepatía.” With GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominations, a BMI Award, and over a decade of shaping Latin and global pop, CHIL now steps into her own with a fearless new vision.
