ANNOUNCES DELUXE EDITION OF I MISS YOU ALREADY + I HAVEN’T LEFT YET + UK TOUR DATES

Del Water Gap returns with new single ‘Purple Teeth, The Bravery’ and announces the Deluxe Edition of widely adored sophomore album, I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet to be released August 16th on Mom + Pop Music.

Its three bonus additions unlock new dimensions to the page-turning, intimate storytelling the record perfects; his sound scales indie-rock’s golden heights, while remaining tender and internal in the way of a deep purple bruise. The release follows Del Water Gap’s duet with Holly Humberstone, ‘Cigarettes & Wine’, and coincides with forthcoming dates supporting Niall Horan on his UK tour.

‘Purple Teeth, The Bravery’ is pacing and nocturnal, before surrendering to lightness in a spirit-lifting chorus. The brass section in the coda lends the song a timeless quality which is unmistakably Del Water Gap. The track made its debut on BBC Radio 1‘s New Music Show with Jack Saunders last night.

He explains: “It’s a story about having enough red wine that you suddenly get all brave, and you’re spinning and pushing yourself around and saying a lot of shit you’ve been holding onto and hurting over. And you sleep it off, and you wake up in the morning and you can’t really remember what you said, but you look in the mirror and your teeth are still purple from the night before – and just like that, the guilt starts creeping in. The groundhog day of hurting and burying the hatchet, bottling up and boiling over again and again.” 

I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet was inspired by a note scrawled in the margins of his grandfather’s William Carlos Williams poetry book addressed to his grandmother. The record is replete with quietly devastating detail such as this; episodic and dream-like, with contributions from Arlo Parks and Clairo and produced by Del Water Gap alongside Sammy Witte (Harry Styles, Halsey) and Ethan Gruska (Phoebe Bridgers). The Deluxe Edition also includes new song ‘Midas’ and a live recording of ‘Doll House’.
