DETROIT’S BIG KEY DROPS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED MIXTAPE SON OF OD

Hard-hitting Detroit rapper Big Key officially solidifies his relentless 2026 momentum today with the release of his highly anticipated mixtape, Son of OD, streaming on all major platforms now. Serving as his first full body of work since his triumphant return home from a three-year incarceration, the project marks a definitive milestone in the rising star’s career.

Son of OD showcases Big Key’s signature raw Detroit rap style, a sound that is as gritty as it is versatile, packed with clever adlibs and sharp lyrical wit. The mixtape represents the culmination of a heated summer run that captured the streets, building heavily on the momentum of several major singles that preceded the project’s release.

The rollout kicked off in earnest with the massive hit 2 The Hard Way (First Day Out),” which clocked over two million YouTube views and announced his powerful return to the rap scene. He followed that momentum in mid-May with Jacc Funny,” a track paying homage to the popular skit comedian. The single run then culminated with his final focus track, A to Z,” which was a clever, rapid-fire roll call matching alphabetical letters to his roster. Both “Jacc Funny” and “A to Z” have live performances streaming on On The Radar.

Growing up as the youngest of three kids, Big Key absorbed his unstoppable work ethic from his late father, a respected local entrepreneur. After falling in love with hip-hop through icons like Too $hort and Detroit pillars like Icewear VezzoKey hit the studio at 16 and never looked back. His authentic storytelling and undeniable delivery have since earned him coveted co-signs from heavyweights like Tee Grizzley, Skilla Baby, and E Vonoff1700.
