DREAMER BOY SHARES HAZY-SWEET SONG and VIDEO and ANNOUNCES ALBUM COMING EARTH DAY!

Wide-eyed Nashville singer-songwriter Dreamer Boy returns today with a single and video, “Easier Said Than Done,” as well as news of his second full-length album All The Ways We Are Together, out on Earth Day, April 22, via slowplay/Harvest.

Over a misty sophistipop haze and the snap of ‘80s-indebted drums, Zach Taylor—the Washington-raised, Nashville-based artist behind the Dreamer Boy moniker—encourages us to seek the comfort of loved ones when times get tough. The video, appropriately, features Taylor amongst his friends, dancing, smiling, and dreaming in a studio—safe, for a moment, from the concerns of the world outside.

As with “Easier Said Than Done,” Dreamer Boy’s upcoming album All the Ways We Are Together wasn’t necessarily written with the turmoil of 2020 in mind, but its ethereal melodies, delicate timbre and empathetic lyrics will surely speak to fans burdened by the state of things. He chose Earth Day, April 22nd, as a release date for the album to reflect the global communal spirit he feels with people and our shared environment.

On the song, Dreamer Boy sets the tone as he coos, “Keep your head up, baby, you’re doing fine.” He says “Easier Said Than Done” is designed to be “an encouragement song” that helps you remember what’s important.

“I wrote it when I was at a low point and the song represents the voice of a friend who is helping you through a hard time,” Taylor says. “We have to lean on one another in this life and remind each other who we are and what matters. I needed to be reminded I couldn’t hold the weight on my own shoulders, and that having friends to help bear our burdens is a beautiful part of life.”

“With the video,” he adds, “I simply wanted to put some of my friends on camera, highlight the people who have made me feel lighter this past year. Once we realize we are not alone, we are free to run, and I hope everyone has that encouragement in their life. Sometimes getting out of the rut is as simple as taking one step. When you don’t know where to begin, begin anywhere.”

“Easier Said Than Done” follows a trio of sonically blissful 2020 singles, “Know You”, “Crybaby”, and “Don’t Be a Fool”, each of which appears on All The Ways We Are Together. These new tracks were warmly received by critics and fans alike, garnering praise from outlets like Clash, FADER, and Flaunt, the latter of which praised Dreamer Boy’s “raw and earnest storytelling” and called him an “an artist to watch for 2021 and beyond.” This recent run has shown new growth and maturity for an artist who arrived pretty fully formed on his debut LP Love, Nostalgia in 2018, often dubbed ‘cowboy pop’ with synth and guitar bridging the gap between bedroom pop heart and Nashville tradition, and spawning the single “Puppy Dog”, with Clash magazine comparing its “blissful naivety” to Rex Orange County and its “choppy guitar” to Prince. If “Easier Said Than Done” is any indication, Dreamer Boy is poised to bring even more joy and comfort to the world soon. In the past Dreamer Boy has toured with Clairo, Omar Apollo, and Still Woozy.
