EMPIRE CELEBRATES HISPANIC HERITAGE WITH ‘RHYTHM & ROOTS’ FT JAY WHEELER, SABRINA CLAUDIO, & DANNY TOWERS
San Francisco-based label EMPIRE is honoring Hispanic Heritage Month with Rhythm and Roots, a three-episode series spotlighting the cultural influences and personal stories behind some of today’s most celebrated Latin artists.
The series features Puerto Rican artists Jay Wheeler, Sabrina Claudio, and Danny Towers as they discuss how their roots shape their music, identity, and artistry. Each artist brings a unique perspective on Latin music, blending traditional influences with modern sounds that resonate globally.
Rhythm and Roots kicks off today with Jay Wheeler, one of Puerto Rico’s brightest urban music stars. The three-time Latin GRAMMY nominee and two-time Diamond-certified artist is known for his smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics and has become a defining voice in contemporary Latin R&B and reggaeton. His episode includes reflections on growing up in Puerto Rico and features an intimate live performance from his Miami residence. Watch here.
Sabrina Claudio follows on October 7. The Grammy-winning singer and songwriter has become a global R&B sensation, celebrated for her ethereal vocals, vulnerable lyricism, and genre-defying sound. In her episode, she discusses her Miami upbringing, the influence of her Latina identity in music, and takes fans behind the scenes on an exclusive yacht shoot.
The series closes on October 14 with Danny Towers, a rising star in Latin trap and hip-hop. Known for his storytelling and innovative sound, Towers presents the first Latin project from Sinners Club, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month while reflecting on his journey, inspirations, and the cultural elements that drive his artistry.
With Rhythm and Roots, EMPIRE offers fans an intimate glimpse into the intersection of heritage and artistry, showcasing the voices and experiences that continue to define and shape Latin music today.
