Fana Hues Unleashes New Album ‘Moth’; Embarks on Tour with Lucky Daye This Summer
Renowned singer-songwriter and executive producer Fana Hues has launched her impressive third studio album, MOTH, now available through Bright Antenna Records. This deeply moving and meticulously crafted 13-track album showcases Fana’s extraordinary talent for expressing emotions through her music, both in lyrics and sound. Her voice, sometimes ethereal and gentle, sometimes bold and electrifying, propels the otherworldly sonic aura of MOTH.
As the final installment in a trilogy of albums demonstrating flawless execution, MOTH presents a raw and captivating depiction of Fana’s emerging womanhood. Reflecting on the album, Fana shares, “Moths navigate through darkness, persistently seeking light despite potential harm. I’m perpetually on a quest to discover the essence of a feeling in its purest form, even if it brings pain.”
Collaborating with co-producers such as Levan Kali and Josh Grant, MOTH delves into a wide range of themes, from desire and love languages to patience and karma. The album includes tracks like “Paper Tigers,” a winding song filled with psychedelic guitars and limitless vocals, the summertime hit “Rental,” a delightful, irreverent, and cheeky tribute to distractions and happiness, and “Sweetlike,” a sultry, playful, assertive exploration of a cat-and-mouse game between lovers.
MOTH marks Fana’s first release since her critically acclaimed 2022 album flora + fana, a beautiful reflection on self-love praised by NPR, Vogue, Complex, The Guardian, Billboard, VIBE, and more. Since the release of her debut album, Hues, in 2020, Fana has steadily ascended the R&B ladder as a promising singer and songwriter, earning a notable feature on Tyler The Creator’s “Sweet / I Thought You Wanted to Dance” with Brent Faiyaz from his Grammy Award-winning album CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST. Fana’s captivating performances have led to tours with Raveena, Snoh Aalegra, and Giveon in the US and a sold-out headline tour in Europe, winning over fans including Janelle Monae, Sabrina Claudio, and Lucky Daye.
Fana’s new music has earned her influential playlist covers on Spotify, Amazon, Tidal, and Pandora, with “Rental” featured on over 50 editorial playlists across DSPs. In April, she performed at Spotify’s Fresh Finds live event in Chicago alongside artists like Paris Texas, Slow Pulp, and Casper Sage. Recently, Fana was announced as the special guest on Lucky Daye’s US summer tour, starting on July 11th in San Francisco, and stopping at iconic venues like New York City’s Radio City Music Hall and Los Angeles’s Greek Theatre.
