Fijian rapper Jesswar releases debut project ‘TROPIXX’ + shares new video for “XXL”
Fijian rapper Jesswar releases her roaring debut project TROPIXX via Inertia Music / [PIAS] Recordings. In celebration, Jesswar teamed up with Western Sydney-based artist collective House of Slé for her striking “XXL” video out now. Choreographed by Bhenji Ra and directed by Natasha Foster, the visual captures the essence of Janet Jackson’s “Rock With U” video and honors the strength of Jesswar’s chosen community. Three years in the making, the TROPIXX EP serves as an introductory body of work lined with Jesswar’s signature no-holds-barred tenacity and master A proud Fijian woman who currently creates on Yugambeh/Kombumerri land, Jesswar’s ruthless refusal of prescribed definitions is the foundation on which she builds her universe.
