GLORIA ESTEFAN RELEASES “LA VECINA (NO SE NA’)” HER UPTEMPO NEW SINGLE CELEBRATING COMMUNITY, HERITAGE, AND HUMOR
Global superstar Gloria Estefan is back with her second single from the highly anticipated RAÍCES album: “La Vecina (No Se Na’),” a high-energy salsa track that follows the chart-topping success of the title single “Raíces.” The new track is a vibrant, playful ode to the classic Latin neighborhood dynamic — and to la vecina (“the neighbor”) everyone knows: the one who always seems to know everything or at least thinks she does.
Written by Emilio Estefan, “La Vecina (No Se Na’)” blends irresistible salsa rhythms with rich storytelling and Gloria’s unmistakable vocals to deliver a party anthem destined to become a classic.
The single is part of RAÍCES, Gloria’s first all-Spanish studio album in 18 years— a deeply personal and musical celebration of her five-decade career. Out May 29, the album pays tribute to her roots, family, culture, and the timeless sounds that shaped her as an artist.
The music video, directed by Gloria herself, brings the song’s narrative to life with vibrant visuals and heartfelt storytelling. Shot in “El Cuartelito” or “The Barracks” (as Gloria and her family call it), the very apartment complex where Gloria and her mother first lived after arriving from Cuba in May 1960, the video captures the spirit of Miami in the 1960s and the tight-knit Cuban-American community that helped raise her.
Starring Amara La Negra (Diana Danelys De Los Santos) as La Vecina, the video introduces the audience to a charming and charismatic neighborhood figure — the gossip queen who sees and hears it all. Amara infuses the role with humor, boldness, and undeniable charisma, portraying the heartbeat of a community brought together by tradition, rhythm, and resilience.
The video is especially meaningful to Gloria, as it marks the first time the Estefan family appears together onscreen — featuring Gloria, Emilio, their daughter Emily, son Nayib, and grandson Sasha. Through dazzling wardrobe, colorful set design, and joyful choreography, the piece becomes a multi-generational celebration of legacy and Latin joy.
“For me, recording in that neighborhood was like going back in time,” shares Gloria. “It felt as if time had stopped. So many memories came rushing back — the smells, the colors, the voices of my childhood. It was incredibly emotional and grounding to reconnect with my roots in such a real way.”
With its nostalgic setting, salsa-driven beat, and Gloria’s unmistakable voice, “La Vecina (No Se Na’)” is more than a song — it’s a tribute to the community, culture, and characters who shape our lives.
“La Vecina (No Se Na’)” is now available on all digital platforms. Gloria Estefan’s new album, RAÍCES, will be released May 29.
