HAILED BY ROLLING STONE AS “ONE OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED LATIN ALBUMS OF 2026,” JUANES RELEASES HIS EAGERLY AWAITED 12TH ALBUM ‘JUANESTEBAN’
With over 20 Billion career music streams, 17 #1 songs, and a recent declaration by Billboard naming him “The Top Latin Rock/Pop Artist Of The 21st Century,” today sees Colombian superstar JUANES release ‘JuanesTeban,’ the 29-time GRAMMY/LATIN GRAMMY winner’s highly anticipated 12th album. In tandem with today’s release the artist also premieres new focus track/ & video “Timelapse De Sol,” with critically praised Venezuelan band Rawayana. Continuing Juanes’ career long practice of recording with both well established and rising artists, the new album also features additional special guest appearances from Bomba Estéreo (“Muérdeme”), Conociendo Rusia (“Cómo Pudiste”), Mon Laferte (“Vuelve”), Vivir Quintana (“Humano”) and longtime Coldplay collaborator Davide Rossi providing string arrangements for “El Gran Día” and “Una Noche Contigo.”
A concept album co-produced by Nico Cotton & Juanes, ‘JuanesTeban’ thrives on the idea of duality, as Juanes explores the sound of both darkness and light, cumbia and rock, spirituality and carnal romance, lyrics of uplifting optimism & joy, and of emotional vulnerability, the two opposite faces of the same very human artist, that coexist and complement each other. Juanes is the approachable singer known all over the globe. Teban is his undaunted alter ego, never afraid to speak out the deepest emotional truths.
“I have finally returned to a place of light and joy,” says Juanes. “I wanted to make the kind of album that would take me back to the land of dancing and cumbia – the feeling of Latin America, the root of folklore. This record is also different from the others because I finally got to explore the many facets of my personality,” he reflects. “It’s like a kaleidoscope of my many moods: joyful, enthusiastic, melancholy. Channeling my feelings into these songs gives me a purpose in life.”

In addition to the advance singles (“Una Noche Contigo,” “Cuando Estamos Tú Y Yo”, “Muérdeme” and “Hagamos Que”) already embraced by fans and global charts, the album is filled with many more highlights. These range from “Timelapse del Sol” heat of a romantic sunset, the life affirming tropical cumbia of “Quiero,” two tracks on the empowerment we get from loving partners, with the energized ability to take on the world in “El Gran Día” and the mental restorative power we draw from love in hard times in “Humano,” to the project closing, heart wrenching acoustic tenderness of “Madre”, dedicated to Juanes’ late mother Alicia.
Today’s visualizer premiere for new focus track “Timelapse De Sol,” along with visualizers for many additional tracks, were shot in the lush landscapes of Costa Rica, underscoring the vibrant primary colors of Latin America that continue to inform Juanes’ songwriting. Directed by acclaimed Argentine filmmaker Agustín Puente (The Movement), the videos are distinguished by their emotional warmth and understated elegance.
The album cover art of ‘JuanesTeban’ as well as individual artistic interpretations for each song were completely drawn by Juanes, marking the first time his own original artwork is included as a visual companion, and can be found on both the physical CD, and two-disc vinyl releases. This is part of a continuing creative direction he has designed in tandem with Sebastián Londoño and Juan Camilo Londoño.
Likewise, all of the recently announced Juanes World Tour 2026 stand-alone shows will feature a distinctive new musical & visual presentation, exploring the introspective duality concept of the songs and visuals of the new album. Of course the tour presentation will be equally full of an abundance of beloved signature hits from throughout Juanes groundbreaking career, demonstrating why The Los Angeles Times previously declared “Juanes’ live show is a daring production… and a ‘don’t miss’ event… an unforgettable night full of hits… [and] a master class on guitar… that [should] place him in the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame… [His concerts] confirm Juanes as the rare artist — in company with the likes of Bono and Bruce Springsteen — with the power to inspire beyond the venue walls.”
This past weekend demonstrated that the new tour is already an unquestioned hit with fans, as Juanes garnered top awards at the renowned Viña Del Mar Song Festival during his much talked about headline return after 17 years, followed by a completely sold-out appearance at Madrid’s Movistar Arena-which lit up social media throughout Spain.
