JUANES RETURNS TO THE TINY DESK CONCERT SERIES TO KICK-OFF NPR MUSIC’S “LATIN MUSIC MONTH”
‘Pimpinero: Blood and Oil,’ marks director Andrés Baiz’ triumphant return to the big screen after a successful career directing global series. ‘Pimpinero: Blood and Oil’ explores the powerful and universal themes of borders and family bonds, making it a must-watch for audiences around the world. The highly celebrated cast includes Alberto Guerra (Griselda), Alejandro Speitzer (La Cabeza de Joaquin Murrieta), Laura Osma (Goles en contra) and multi-award winning Grammy® and Latin Grammy® artist Juanes. Following its September 9th world premiere as part of the international Centerpiece program lineup at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film is set to launch on Prime Video later this year. Pimpinero: Blood and Oil is set in the desert bordering Colombia and Venezuela, where gasoline smugglers known as “pimpineros” risk their lives transporting illegal fuel from one country to another.
Additionally, Juanes will also be included in Austin City Limits TV’s 50th Anniversary Season. Juanes’ November 16th performance broadcast, will see the Colombian Rock Superstar join fellow artists such as Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves Jelly Roll, Brittany Howard, Gary Clark Jr & more in this landmark season of “the longest-running music program in television history.”
Moreover, earlier this year, twenty-nine time GRAMMY/LATIN GRAMMY winner Juanes completed an extensive (28-date) first North American run of his highly praised “VIDA COTIDIANA WORLD TOUR.” The powerful rock guitar tour (driven by the sound of Juanes’ own recently unveiled signature Fender Stratocaster) is both a live celebration of the Colombian superstar’s highly personal “Best Latin Rock /Alternative” GRAMMY winning album ‘Vida Cotidiana‘ (‘Everyday Life’), and an immersive journey through his numerous chart-topping greatest hits..
Now, after also playing to hundreds of thousands of fans in Latin America, Europe and more, JUANES is embarking on a special second leg of limited U.S. dates this fall that will let him bring this dynamic live production to fans in cities he has never or rarely visited before. The shows will begin October 17th in Kansas City, launching a 14-date string of concerts that will conclude with a December 16th & 17th two-night stand in Highland, California. One additional appearance to follow (December 21) will see Juanes return again as on eof the leading artists for the 2024 edition of The Besame Mucho Festival at Dodger Stadium.
