HIT MAKER JACOB HACKWORTH MAKES ARTIST DEBUT WITH CINEMATIC “WHEN I DON’T”

Chart-topping hitmaker Jacob Hackworth makes his artist debut with the self-destructive track “When I Don’t.” Written by Hackworth, Chris Tompkins, Daniel Ross and Josh Phillips, the fresh take on heartache finds the troubled narrator going off the rails, ripping 1,000 mph through town, attempting to numb the pain of a split by leaning back on the same vices that landed him lonely. Produced by Daniel Ross, the song has a cinematic feel that brings listeners along for the journey but allows Hackworth’s hearty yet smooth vocals to take center stage and make an impact.

Since signing a publishing deal with Goat Island and Boom Music Group in 2022, Hackworth has established himself as one of Nashville’s most sought after songwriters with more than 20 major label credits, including Bailey Zimmerman‘s six-week No. 1 hit “Rock And A Hard Place,” Corey Kent’s current single “This Heart,” several songs from Jelly Roll‘s No. 1 album Beautifully Broken and Tucker Wetmore’s career-launching smash “Wine Into Whiskey.” With every song Hackworth touches, he infuses real life experiences and channels raw heart and rough-hewn honesty.

“There is a feeling of reassurance that happens when another artist cuts a song I’ve written and I love collaborating and building that feeling of community around town, but I came to town to be an artist so I’m stoked to be releasing something that I can call my own,” shared Jacob Hackworth. “I’ve seen and experienced a lot of heartbreak throughout my life and listening to songs about hard times helped me through so, as an artist, I want to return the favor and create music that might help someone else. ‘When I Don’t’ is the first pass of that torch.”
