Humble The Great shares brand new track ‘Pink Dress’
Introducing Humble the Great, a newcomer on the underground London R&B scene who today shares his new single ‘Pink Dress’ via Neighbourhood Recordings (Dave, Kamal).
Brimming with tangible natural talent, Humble’s musical journey started at a young age when he began writing songs on his guitar, teaching himself bass, piano and drums and forming a band at the age of 12. While the band was short-lived, his interest in creating and performing grew. After graduating in sound engineering from the Abbey Road Institute, he honed his skills and swiftly built a name for himself writing and producing in the scene, which led to him executive producing Amie Blu’s latest project.
Emotive and genuine, Humble The Great has a knack for wrapping his calm, soothing vocals in more off-kilter productions to add that extra edge that piques your interest. ‘Pink Dress’ is a solemn love letter in song form that gives you a solid insight into Humble’s writing style and sets out his stall for what’s to come. “It’s about coming to terms with the need to end a relationship. Being brave in accepting that even though there were beautiful moments in the past, the negative elements now outweigh the positive, so it’s time to move on”.
With BBC Introducing already embracing ‘Pink Dress’ as their Track of the Week, early live performances at Latitude festival and a slot on Mahalia’s Presents night in the summer and with a cannon of impressive material ready to go, the future looks very bright indeed.
