Hurricane Wisdom Continues to Rise with “Rich Dropout” Video

Hurricane Wisdom, Rapper, Rap Music, Rap Artist, Rap, Audible Treats, Lyrical Lemonade

Hurricane Wisdom staked his claim as one of 2025’s breakthrough rap artists with the recent mixtape, Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The RainThe North Florida sensation returns with a new video from the project, for highlight track “Rich Dropout.” Using a sample of Oh Wonder’s single “Landslide,” made famous by Lil Uzi Vert in “The Way Life Goes,” Hurricane croons in a slippery flow, dreaming of returning to his hometown with his newfound riches: “Ma, I dropped out, I probably won’t go back to school/Richer than my coach, principal and teachers too/I could probably buy the school, rent it out for all my goons/But until then, I’m makin’ tunes, million-dollar calls on Zoom,” spits Hurricane.

In the video, Hurricane flashes back to his high school days, as he tortures an unlucky substitute teacher with his class clown antics and leads his classmates in a walkout, before leaving with two popular girls in his electric blue Lambo. Hurricane Wisdom recently performed “Rich Dropout” on Lyrical Lemonade’s Lunch Break Freestyle, which racked up over 875k views in its first two weeks of release, and reached YouTube’s Trending Chart for music.

More than a deluxe, Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain brings 17 original songs, not yet collected on any project. The new collection gives a proper home to Hurricane’s summer 2025 trending singles: “Woosah” (which peaked at #9 for YouTube trending and #40 on the YouTube Top Music Video chart), “Afraid” (reached #12 on YouTube’s Trending Chart), “Powerhouse,” which Hurricane debuted on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon stream with On The Radar, reached the Top 10 of YouTube’s Trending Chart, and  #89 on YouTube’s Music Video chart, and most recently, “OT,” which reached the Top 5 of YouTube’s Trending Chart, and #86 on the YouTube Music Video Charts.

Beyond the previously released hits, Sorry 4 The Rain is a breezy and fast-paced listen, buoyed by Hurricane’s featherlight melodies and rewind-worthy punchlines. Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain documents Hurricane’s rising reputation in the rap game, welcoming some of street rap’s biggest names and hottest risers as guests. Most notably, Lil Baby joins for a high-wattage remix to Hurricane’s viral hit “Drugs Callin,” a “Perky’s Calling” flip that racked up over 40 million streams across platforms and 21 million views on YouTube, and G Herbo, who duets with Hurricane on “Clippers” (#65 on YouTube’s Music Video Chart). A worthy follow-up to the Billboard 200-charting Perfect Storm that can easily stand on its own, Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain is available on all platforms via Rebel/gamma.

Charting on the Billboard 200 for three weeks (#126 peak), Perfect Storm was a statement of purpose from Hurricane Wisdom. The February 2025-released album is home to “Giannis (Remix),” a new version of Hurricane’s 2024 breakout hit with a guest verse from Polo G, and the original version of “Drugs Callin,” plus trending hits like “On God” ft. Raq Baby (6.7 million views).

Born and raised in Havana, Florida, just 30 minutes from Tallahassee, Hurricane Wisdom earned a big fanbase (369k YouTube subscribers, 516k Instagram followers) with his emotionally honest lyrics and entrancing melodies. His 2024 project Eye Of The Storm featured “Giannis,” a kinetic anthem dedicated to the Milwaukee Bucks superstar, which became Hurricane Wisdom’s biggest hit to date, with over 39 million YouTube views and 22 million Spotify streams. “Giannis” earned rapturous reviews from critics, as well, including Pitchfork, who called the song “the feel-good Florida anthem of the moment” and listed it at #36 on their list of the 100 Best Songs of 2024.
