Hurricane Wisdom Shares Scenes From His NYC Trip in “Major Payne” Music Video
Debuting at #108 on the Most Recent Billboard 200 and Featuring Buzzing Singles with Chance The Rapper and Gunna, Weathering The World Continues to Establish the 2026 XXL Freshman as One of Rap’s Brightest Young Stars
Hurricane Wisdom is quickly rising in the rap game with his indelible melodies and relatable flexes. The North Florida rapper shares scenes from his recent trip to NYC in the new video for “Major Payne,” a highlight from his new album, Weathering The World. Produced by Floridian sound architect DxnteMadeIt, “Major Payne” layers Hurricane’s tuneful rasps above a laid back instrumental, complete with contemplative pianos and 808 cowbells. The new music video delivers scenes from Hurricane’s trip to New York earlier this summer, following the young star as he moves from press outlets and DSPs to bodegas and block parties, soaking in the revelry of the New York Knicks’ championship run.
Debuting at #108 on the most recent Billboard 200, Weathering The World is home to “Barbie Doll,” a viral collaboration with Chance The Rapper, which racked up over 18 million global streams, reached Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Bubbling Under Hot 100 charts, and is currently sits the Top 20 on Urban Radio, with over 160 adds in the past week alone. The album is currently being buoyed by “YK Where It’s Goin,” a fiery collaboration with Gunna, which has become one of the summer’s most viral hip-hop tracks, with over 25k Shazams in its first four 4 days and a peak at #23 on Apple Music’s Atlanta chart. Home to hit singles like “Over Now” (24 million worldwide streams) the Afrobeats-inflected “Living Up” (performed earlier this year on COLORS), and “My Life” (21 million worldwide streams), Weathering The World peaked at #7 on Apple Music’s All-Genre Albums charts (and at #4 on Apple Music’s Hip-Hop Albums Chart), and songs from the album have racked up over 100 million streams to date. Weathering The World is available on all platforms via Rebel/gamma.
Hurricane Wisdom keeps up his red hot late summer run, announcing the “Weathering The World Tour,” launching this October. The upcoming tour will feature music from the North Florida rapper’s brand new album, Weathering The World, available now via Rebel/gamma. Kicking off on October 7th in Houston, the 20-date headlining tour makes stops in major markets across the nation, including Atlanta, New York, and Chicago, plus home state markets Tampa and Miami, before concluding in Los Angeles on November 22nd. Pre-sale tickets for the “Weathering The World Tour” launch on Tuesday, August 18th, with general tickets going onsale later this week.
Weathering The World continues to establish Hurricane’s status as one of the hottest young rappers in the world. In June, Hurricane was honored as a member of the 2026 XXL Freshman Class. Wisdom also earned Artist To Watch honors from Spotify and Complex at the beginning of 2026. The new album follows up last year’s Perfect Storm and Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain, each of which charted on the Billboard 200 and racked up hundreds of millions of streams, with hits like “Drugs Callin” (and its Lil Baby-featuring remix) and “Woosah” leading the way. Earlier this week, Hurricane announced his 20-date nationwide headlining “Weathering The World Tour,” launching this October.
