IGNITE CELEBRATES ITS FIRST EDITION IN MEXICO WITH RISING STARTS FREYA SKYE AND TIARE

Universal Music México celebrated the first edition of IGNITE in the country with a private event at Frontón Bucareli. With Hollywood Records’ Freya Skye as the headliner and UMG Mexico’s Tiare opening the show, the gathering brought together music industry representatives, media outlets and content creators for a closer look at both artists’ music.

“IGNITE is an initiative by Universal Music Group that spotlights some of the most promising up-and-coming artists, creating a space to discover and connect with the talent that is setting trends in music.”

British rising star Freya Skye headlined this first Mexican edition. The singer and songwriter, who just wrapped the US leg of her 74 date ‘Stars Align’ global tour, released her debut EP ‘stardust’ in May, hitting 1 million streams in less than 24 hours and hitting #1 on the Billboard Vinyl Chart and UK Vinyl Charts. With songs such as “silent treatment”, her music combines pop with lyrics about relationships and heartbreak, written from personal experiences that have inspired a surge of support, with devoted fans who relate to her as an emotionally honest storyteller. Her recent single, “bad taste”, released on September 16, continues this chapter of her career. Her participation in IGNITE brought her music project closer to guests in Mexico through a live performance.

Tiare opened the show, performing songs including “otra vez”, “reservas para dos” and her latest single, “Encima de Él”. The singer and songwriter, nominated for Best New Artist at the Latin GRAMMYs in 2022, released her debut album, NECIA, in 2025. Her songs explore love, heartbreak and mental health from a personal perspective, while “Encima de Él” addresses the feelings that remain after a relationship and the difficulty of starting again.

With this first edition, Universal Music México brought the country into the international IGNITE initiative and reaffirmed its commitment to developing emerging talent. The evening created a space to hear both artists live and share their music with guests from the industry, media outlets and the creator community.
