INTERVIEW | Ambjaay “More Music More Legacy”

21 year-old Ambjaay recently released his new single “Blow The Pickle” ft. Wiz Khalifa (produced by Tay Keith). His new single was created amidst the pandemic. Thanks to the creativity of Ambjaay and Columbia Records we were blessed with this animated video.

Ambjaay expressed growing up in LA and being surrounded by gang bangers and it being hard to imagine making it out. But he put in work.

With influences form his brother and sister; after high school he decided to begin his career in music. With influences like Jay Rock, Jay-Z and Nas amongst others he hit the ground running with his first hit “UNO”.

“Becoming billionaires that’s the goal you don’t want to rap for life.”

Ambjaay is a very ambitious young man with goals of having his own record label. Not only is he wanting to gain success to provide and take care of his family and love ones. But he also wants to “put other people on” Ambjaay told IMPRINT. Futhermore, he wants his peers to know it’s not just about money it’s about leaving a legacy, your legacy!

Now basking in his success he shares the pros + cons since his first hit single “UNO. Some pros being; more opportunities presenting themselves and him being able to take care of his family. And how receiving a plaque only built up his hunger for success.

But with the good comes the bad, what’s a pro without a con? Once the record “UNO” gained notoriety globally Ambjaay received some backlash from the Hispanic community; with some saying it was racist. However he doesn’t and  didn’t let negativity stop his positive vibes. This is all apart of his legacy.

Mentioning he would like to collab with artists like Lil Baby, Lil Tjay, Too Short, E-40, Migos and others. He is ready to get back to it once we are out of quarantine.
