Written By | Agustia Subira

With almost 80 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify the singer, songwriter and tiktoker, Ayzha Nyree, is shaking the hip pop and R&B world. Along with her astonishing beauty and vibrant energy, this creative artist has come up with powerful melodies, catchy cadences and lyrics that result, as she described in her Spotify cover, “as a cross between Jhene Aiko and Gunna: infusing R&B, rap, and rhythmic elements into her sound”. Chris Brown’s “No Guidance” remix was her most known song until now. Even though she got herself known to the public through TikTok’s videos, she has made her way into signing with Republic Records to continue with her blossoming career.

The 21-year-old performer’s latest release was her single NOYA, along with its music video. Ayzha told IMPRINT about the production and experience of working with director Cody Dobie: “(…) I loved working with him so much, that I’m definitely working with him in the future, because he was able to give my vision across, you know, so well (…)”, and assured that “(…) the hole project was so fun”. Moreover, she explained during the interview that NOYA’s video tries to portray a message against labeling; initially a TikToker, the young artist knows what it feels to get labelled. She also said that the wanted a dynamic concept for her youngest audience: kids. And she stated “(…) I don’t wanna be in a box, I just wanna be whatever I wanna be that day.”

Regarding this year’s projects, Ayzha, told us that: “this year I am working on perfecting my sound, I have an album coming up that I’ve just been working for so long (…)”.

She described her style as: “(…) a real soulful hybrid of like Jhene [Aiko] and then Lil Baby and then sprinkling some like Alicia Keys and some soul singers (…)”. And her top artists she would love to open up for would be: Lil Baby, Jhene Aiko and Billie Eilish. And told us about the weirdest dream she had once about going to a baseball game with “Ocean Eyes’s” singer.

The message Ayzha wants her fans to receive through her music is love, to be self- confident and love each other; “(…) failure is not an option unless you make it an option. If you say you can’t, you’re right and if you say you can you are also right, is all about mind set (…)”.
