R&B/POP SONGSTRESS MAKENZIE RELEASES FESTIVE SINGLE “LET IT SNOW”
Christmas comes early for MaKenzie! The rising R&B singer, songwriter, and performer unveils her reimagining of the seasonal classic “Let It Snow” exclusively on Apple Music’s Carols Covered playlist. Listen HERE via Warner Records.
“Oh, it’s a joy to see the angels sing cause we’re together,” MaKenzie coos over soft synth chords and understated, echoing percussion “We gotta thank him, can’t let it slip away,” On the chorus, she conjures images of a winter wonderland: “Let it snow, let it snow — outside, it’s cold but the fire’s blazing, let it snow.” The beloved Christmas staple is reborn as a slow-burning, sultry R&B anthem with crossover appeal.
“I decided to cover this song because I’ve always been a big Boyz II Men fan. I remember seeing Shawn Stockman when he was a judge on The Sing-Off and being obsessed with the advice he was giving,” MaKenzie singer tells Apple Music. “It was just a logical decision. I’m a harmony girl; I love stacks, heavy harmonies, texture, and all of that. Boyz II Men, vocally, I feel like they’re very much about that, so it was super fun to be able to get in and play with all the things that I love, because they love those things too.”

“Let It Snow” is the first new music from MaKenzie since she dropped A Pretty Fucking Amazing EP in April. The Rob Knox-produced project includes the smoldering single “Maybe” with TA Thomas, as well as the club-ready floor-filler “Cashmere” and “LIPS,” a synth-heavy dance track dripping with charm.
