Current Nashville resident and Hope, Arkansas native, Mae Estes kicked off the night.  Her traditional country roots inspired by artists such as: Keith Whitley, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, and Merle Haggard among others, comes through in her writing.  Starting with the catchy tune, “Twang”, she immediately got the crowd’s attention. Next was the crowd participation tune “Go Bobby Go”, followed by “Your Hands” off the new EP.  This was for a close friend for her Birthday.  One more song followed and she closed with “Thinking About Cheating”.  It was a short set, that left the crowd wanting more.

Alabama’s own, Dee White followed, with a throwback country voice and, with an incredibly tight band. Kicking it off with a song called “Sugar” and quickly into the catchy tune “Million Miles” as the crowd grew.  Some of the other highlights for me were “Tools Over Toys”, Snake” and “Whiskey Please”.  Dee’s rendition of “Tennessee Whiskey” was not a copycat version, he made it his own, and is a worthy listen you can find on YouTube.  He closed with his latest single “Wagon Girl”.

Jackson Dean hit the stage to the roar of a dedicated crowd. I spoke with several people in the crowd, who had followed him over the last few years, throughout the south at various venues.  People brought blank posters with Sharpee’s and were holding up signs, that he signed after the show!  He opened with the title song from his latest (2022) release “Greenbrook”.  The set included eight of the ten songs from “Greenbrooke” and a few unreleased, but well received tunes.

Terminal West is known for it’s exceptional lighting and sound system.  The band used all of it!  The lighting was equivalent to what you would experience in a large arena.  The sound was loud and clear, which the band took full advantage of!  Jackson thanked the crowd for the support received for the song “Fearless”, which has received radio airplay and many streams on the various platforms.

The crowd exploded when he closed the set with his first single “Don’t Come Lookin’”, a song streamed over 52 million times on Spotify alone!   However, the night wasn’t over. He came out by himself with his acoustic guitar and asked if it was ok for him to play one alone.  He played a song called “Century” under a single strobe light, as the band, hidden by the dark stage lights, exploded into the rocker “Red Light” for the last song of the night.
