JAMIE FINE MARKS A NEW CHAPTER WITH EMPOWERING SINGLE “WAKING UP OK”
HEADLINING DATES AND LIVE PERFORMANCES ANNOUNCED ACROSS CANADA, THE U.S., AND THE UK
After teasing the song all summer, Canadian singer/songwriter Jamie Fine shares the anticipated new single “waking up OK”. The song dives into the liberating possibilities and self-discovery that emerge following heartbreak.
Jamie worked on the song on a recent writing trip to LA, and for the first time she collaborated with her touring band members Darius Martin & Matthieu St. Jules, producer Kayla Diamond and the result is fresh sound for her featuring a simple guitar riff and a catchy hook with her signature vocals.
On writing the single she says, “I wanted waking up OK to be a song that empowers people after their relationship ends. I know that breakups are often associated with a lot of sadness, or anger, resentment, and so many negative emotions; but I wanted to create a song that actually made people feel OK after a breakup. It’s about exploring yourself without another person, whether that’s in an intimate way, waking up at 3 AM to make pancakes because you can and you’re not bugging anybody else, hanging out with people that maybe you got a little distant from. Rediscovering yourself can be really scary, but focusing on things you may have missed or new things that you’re about to discover can be really exciting and that’s ultimately what this song encompasses.”
This release caps off a landmark 2026 for Jamie, which includes the release of her EP everything led me to you and her inaugural headlining tour across the United States. She also supported Calum Scott on select U.S. tour dates, expanding her global fanbase. Internationally, her momentum continues to surge following the announcement of her first headlining European and UK dates, where Glasgow and London sold out almost instantly.
Both personally and artistically, “waking up OK” signals a bold step forward for Jamie Fine as she pushes her creative boundaries and steps into her next musical era.
