Biden for President hosted a national AAPI Heritage Month Call with Jill Biden and California Congresswoman Judy Chu. On the call, Congresswoman Chu announced her endorsement of Joe Biden for President of the United States.

“We’ve watched this Administration ban immigrants from Muslim countries and attack San Franciso’s Chinatown,” said Jill Biden. “We’ve seen Trump label COVID the ‘Chinese virus’ and mock an Asian American journalist in the White House Rose Garden … The AAPI community is serving and sacrificing for our country. And you deserve a President who will work just as hard, care just as much, and fight by your side. Joe Biden will be that president because he knows that our diversity is our strength. He understands that the story of America is one that we must tell together. He is committed, as am I, to standing beside the AAPI community today, tomorrow and as President of the United States.”

“We’ve witnessed an alarming rise in white supremacy and domestic terrorism fueled by Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric and actions,” said Congresswoman Judy Chu. “Our country cannot afford four more years of chaos, corruption, and ineffective leadership. We need a leader like Joe Biden who understands the issues that matter most to our community. He gets where AAPIs stand on issues like immigration reform, education, health care, voting rights, the economy. He has the experience and compassion that all Americans are looking for during these difficult times. And we, the AAPI community, can be the secret weapon in Joe Biden’s victory.”

Congresswoman Chu is the chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus — her endorsement builds on the wide support for Joe Biden in California. Biden for President has previously announced more than 3,000 endorsements from national, state, and local leaders, including current and former U.S. senators and representatives, governors, state elected officials, community leaders, and national security professionals.
