JOSH CAFFÉ SHARES SPECIAL REQUEST REMIX OF ‘LIMOUSINE’ OUT NOW VIA DH2

After emerging as one of the defining club records of the summer, Josh Caffé’s ‘Limousine’ returns in the hands of Special Request, the revered alias of Paul Woolford, for a heavyweight rework that pushes the track deeper into late-night territory.
Special Request’s remix takes Josh’s sleazy, emotionally charged original and reimagines it as UK club futurism. All elastic basslines and infectious funk, Woolford strips the track back before rebuilding it into something propulsive and built for peak-time dancefloors while preserving the seductive pull at the heart of the original.
Speaking on the remix, Josh says:
“Honoured to have a true lege on remix duties for Limousine. His take is pure funk and bleep goodness.”
Paul Woolford adds:
“Josh is 1 in 8 billion. I heard Limousine and immediately loved it, so this was a pure labour of love to reimagine it.”
Originally released as part of Josh’s acclaimed EP The Velvet Hour, ‘Limousine’ has become a festival favourite over recent months. The track reached a new peak when Moxie dropped it during her headline set at Houghton Festival, where it quickly became one of the weekend’s standout moments. It’s also been championed by Jen Cardini, Tim Sweeney, Gerd Janson, Make A Dance + many more over recent months.
Over the last decade, Josh Caffé has become one of London club culture’s most recognisable and respected voices. Whether soundtracking Panorama Bar or his long-running Love Child residency at fabric, his presence has stretched across underground dance music, queer nightlife and fashion. He’s collaborated with artists including Honey Dijon, released music through Erol Alkan’s Phantasy label, and built a reputation for records that pull equally from Chicago house, acid, electroclash and pop. Outside of music, Josh has also worked with brands including Versace and Vivienne Westwood, reflecting the strong visual identity that runs through his work.
Few artists have shaped modern dance music as consistently as Paul Woolford. Across more than 25 years, his Special Request project has become a vehicle for some of the most adventurous club music in the UK, blurring the lines between rave, techno, electro and bass music. A Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer, Woolford’s credits span everyone from Jamie xx, Christine and the Queens, Disclosure and The Chemical Brothers to Lana Del Rey, Sam Smith and Underworld, while Special Request has earned cult status for fearless, genre-defying productions and remixes.
The remix arrives as Josh continues a landmark year following the release of The Velvet Hour, his debut project on dh2. Across the EP, Josh expanded his singular world of sophisticated, sweat-drenched club music, drawing from the queer dancefloors that have defined his career as a DJ, vocalist and cultural figure.
