Khizr Khan Joins Military Families for Biden Call

Yesterday, Biden for President hosted a Military Families for Biden call with Khizr Khan. As a Gold Star father, Khan shared personal stories and discussed the need for leadership in this time of crisis. Biden for President policy experts gave campaign updates and answered questions from the military family members on the call.
“I call all of you my extended family, our veterans, our military families…I wish we were speaking at a better time, but as you and your patriotism have taught us by Valor and service, that we must stand together, especially when we face crisis,” said Khizr Khan. “We need someone who knows how to get things done. We need a serious person. We need a president that listens to experts that believes in the power of institutions, that safeguards our health and wellbeing. We need a leader who has been tested and shown his mettle…We believe Joe Biden’s life of public service as military parents and his leadership experience has prepared him for this moment.”
“When it comes to veterans and military families, [Joe Biden] kind of feels it in his gut not only because of his own son’s service, but just his own sense of responsibility of the community that’s serving for all of us — when there’s only 1% of the country that joins [the] US military to defend us and defend our national interests here and overseas,” said Brian McKeon. “So he understands very well the sacrifices that military families make and the obligation that our government has to military families and veterans for that service.”
