KIDD G ENLISTS CHASE MATTHEWS FOR “SUMMER HEAT” OUT NOW
Emerging country star Kidd G delivers the song of the summer with “Summer Heat” featuring Chase Matthews out now via Rebel Music / Geffen Records. Still riding high from his recent inclusion in the BILLBOARD 21 under 21 list, “Summer Heat” proves once again that Kidd G is the fresh new face of country music.
“Summer Heat” follows Kidd G’s explosive collaboration with BRELAND on the instantly catchy “Dirt Road Remix.” On the explosive hit, the Georgia native dives deep into the archives to revive and reinterpret a fan favorite. Bad Realm Records /Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville PLATINUM artist BRELAND — recently nominated for three CMT Music Awards — breathes new life into the record with his smooth vocals and dynamic delivery. “Dirt Road” first appeared on Kidd G’s 2020 debut EP, serving as his first true foray into country music. The original song found the Georgia native seamlessly spitting bars atop an acoustic palette that evoked the feeling of driving freely down a backroad. “Dirt Road Remix” maintains the same sonic fabric, with Kidd G lamenting alongside BRELAND about a hot-and-cold relationship that he can’t get out of his mind. BRELAND vocals add a new layer to the track as he raps, before singing “they tell me that home is where the heart is, but I’ve been traveling. Country fixed my heart when it first broke / That’s why I’m thanking God for the dirt road.”
“Summer Heat” is Kidd G’s fourth 2022 release, following his exciting run on The Real Me Tour, which he just closed out after a string of sold-out nights. The melancholy track demands listeners’ full attention as a vulnerable anthem. Kidd G certainly has all eyes and ears on him. Down Home Boy generated more than 15 million streams on Spotify alone and earned high NYT praise as “the year’s best country debut album.” The reception was so warm that a deluxe version of the album arrived in late 2021 with four new tracks.
