LENNY KRAVITZ PREMIERES SELF-DIRECTED VIDEO FOR SYNTH-FUNK WORKOUT “LET IT RIDE”
Lenny Kravitz premieres his self-directed, sultry video for recent fan-favorite deep cut “Let It Ride”. With its dramatic poses, waves of smoke, and black and red lighting, the clip taps into a Studio 54 atmosphere, the elegance and grit of Bob Fosse and Paris Is Burning, with the stylish edge of classic Fellini—a perfect companion to the song’s hypnotic synth-funk groove.
The rock legend recruited an all-star technical crew for the project, including director of photography Nicolas Loir (The Weeknd, The Blaze, Chloé, Louis Vuitton, YSL) and a cast highlighted by actor-model Alton Mason (who played Little Richard in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 Elvis biopic) and the brilliant young artist Le Diouck.
Along with releasing the video, Kravitz today kicks off a new remix series for “Let It Ride.” The first installment is a new version from popular Welsh DJ Jamie Jones, who adds his distinctive deep-house grooves to the song’s unrelenting dancefloor vibe and falsetto hooks. Subsequent remixes will include a high HRG disco take by renowned French DJ-producer Kungs (April 18), followed by the package Let It Ride Remixes Pt. 1 (April 25) and Pt. 2 (May 16) featuring reworks from a global cadre of influential remix producers such as Solardo, HoneyLuv, Wongo, DJ Spinna and Ultra Naté.
“Let It Ride” originally appeared on Kravitz’s critically acclaimed 12th LP (and first in six years), 2024’s Blue Electric Light. The album, featuring a quartet of genre-spanning singles (“TK421,” “Human,” “Paralyzed,” and “Honey”), earned some of the musician’s most glowing reviews to date, with the Associated Press hailing it as “a testament to his status as one of the last remaining true rock stars” and NPR calling it “a kaleidoscope of soaring rock, psychedelic funk, gentle soul and more.”
Kravitz continues to promote the album on tour, with dates scheduled through the fall. After a run of stadium and arena dates throughout South America and Europe, he will launch the first leg of his North American run on May 2 at the Beachlife Festival in Redondo Beach, Calif, followed by a return to Las Vegas with his exclusive Las Vegas engagement, Blue Electric Light Las Vegas, at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Kravitz most recently performed at Park MGM this past October with a series of five sold-out shows. The latest five-show run will take place August 1, 2, 6, 8 and 9, 2025.
