Rapper Lil Keed’s estate releases his first single “Long Way To Go” since his passing in May of 2022. In a statement released on the rapper’s Instagram, his mother announced the single by saying “… the time has come to share some of our last pieces of Keed with you all starting with the release of his first single ‘Long Way To Go’”. This release will serve as the first offering from Keed’s forthcoming album Keed Talk To ‘Em 2 which his mother stated Keed was hard at work on right before his passing.
The single is accompanied with a sentimental visual which features cameos from Keed’s daughter, mother, brothers, collaborators, and many more. The scenic video takes place against the backdrop of Keed’s hometown of Atlanta and includes footage of some of Keed’s best moments and last moments. “Long Way To Go” is packed with Keed’s signature melodies, playful pitches, and bouncy delivery as it kicks off the journey to the rapper’s long awaited album Keed Talk To ‘Em 2. Today, “Long Way To Go” is released via Young Stoner Life Records/300 Entertainment.
In a statement posted to Keed’s Instagram Monday, his mother stated the below:
“On May 13, 2022 I lost my son Raqhid Render – who many of you knew as the artist Lil Keed. While this journey through the different phases of grief has been indescribably hard, a way that I have found to cope is through his music. Right before his passing, Keed was hard at work at what would’ve been his highly anticipated next album Keed Talk To ‘Em 2. As much as he was a great father, son, and friend – he was also an artist who (thanks to many of you) lived and continues to live through his music. With that being said, the time has come to share some of our last pieces of Keed with you all starting with the release of his first single “Long Way To Go” this Friday. This song holds a special place in my heart and as you guys will see it will reflect on many aspects of Keed’s journey here on Earth. I hope you all appreciate it as we take the first step in cementing Keed’s legacy. Long Live Keed! ” – Tonnie “HoodMama” Woods-Reed
