Lil TJay at Chicago’s Concord Music Hall with Big Havi and The Kid Laroi

Lil Tjay whose real name is Tionne Jayden Merrit is an American rapper and singer from the Bronx. Only 18 years old, the rapper is on his way to make big name for himself. Tionne began dropping music on Soundcloud only 3 years ago. He received viral fame  in 2017 with his single “Resume” that was accompanied with a homemade music video. Lil Tjay collaborated with rapper Polo G on his song “Pop Out” that now has over 170 million views on Youtube, it’s one of their most popular songs.

Currently on his True 2 Myself Tour, that started in late January and is going till the end of March throughout the U.S and Canada. Lil Tjay performed to a sold out music hall. The 20/20 rapper packed the Chicago Concord Music Hall venue, people of all ages coming to see the artist. Security had to ask the excited crowd which was well over 1000 people to step back twice due to them pushing the barriers closer and closer to the stage. The energy was insane, people had to be carried out the crowd due to exhaustion, Security did the best they could to keep the energetic crowd hydrated.

Up and coming Atlanta rapper Big Havi took the stage first. He performed songs off his recent EP Personal Problems, like “Bout A Bag” and “9 Times Out Of 10.” Big Havi quickly turned up the energy in the show, he had the crowd jumping and singing a long to his music. The ground was literally shaking throughout his performance. The “Bout A Bag” rapper threw water on the crowd and brought out his friends to dance on stage. Before ending his set, he promoted his recently released song, a remix of “9 Times Out Of 10” featuring Lil Baby.

Rapper The Kid Laroi came out next performing a pretty short set, he still had the crowd hyped. He performed his popular songs “Let Her Go” and “Blessing.” Laroi would shout out his friend and collaborator Lil Tecca and bring out a small dancer to help the crowd get moving. He finished his set with his hit song “Diva” which features Lil Tecca.

When Lil Tjay finally came out, the crowd was ecstatic. The rapper performed songs off his True 2 Myself album like “Leaked” and “Top of My Game.” Half way through his set, Tjay paid tribute to rapper Pop Smoke who recently passed away over the Valentine’s Day weekend. He gave a few words and played the JackBoys’ artist biggest song “Dior” while the crowd chanted his name, “Pop Smoke, Pop Smoke!” He continued his set by performing some of his recent hits like “F.N” and “Hold On.” Tjay shouted out Lil Tecca, YNW Melly and other artist throughout the show. The rapper ended the show with the same energy it started with. You could feel the floor shake, smoke shot out from the stage, and lights flashed from cellphones in the crowd.
