Low KeyBEÉLE announces the single “LOW KEY” a ground-breaking Latin-Nigerian collaboration with Maria Becerra, Joeboy ft. Humby

In one of the most powerful collaborations between Latin American and African cultures, Colombian artist Beéle joined forces with Argentina’s Maria Becerra, Nigeria’s Joe Boy and producer Humby on the infectious new track “Low Key”.

The song is accompanied by an extraordinary video recorded between Lagos (Nigeria), Barranquilla (Colombia) and Buenos Aires (Argentina), with images that visually translate the energy, vitality and passion of the music and its creators. They also pay tribute to Shakira.

“The whole experience of making ‘Low Key,’ from start to finish was crazy wonderful,” says Beéle. “From the moment I heard Humby’s proposal I knew it was going to be something life changing. The song turned out better than we dreamed and the experience of making the video was a before and after in my life.”

This unprecedented fusion of rhythms that mark the musical heart of both continents began in late 2019, when Colombian producer Humby embarked on a transformative trip to Lagos, Nigeria, the birthplace of Afrobeat.

This historic visit made him the first and only Latin music industry professional to immerse himself in the Nigerian music scene, working with heavyweights such as Burna Boy, Wizkid and Rema. Upon his return to California, Humby was inspired to merge Latin and Nigerian music cultures. His vision took shape one night when he discovered Beéle’s “Loco” on YouTube, a track in Spanish infused with Afrobeat rhythms.

Once these artists met, “Low Key” became an unstoppable musical force that took on a special dimension with Joeboy’s vocals and Maria Becerra‘s unmistakable musical stamp.

All the artists involved got “Low Key” tattooed during the video shoot, in a sign of the eternal connection that will be between them.
