GRAMMY award-winning, genre-defying R&B superstar Lucky Daye officially returns with his new single “That’s You”, which is co-written and co-produced by 16x GRAMMY award winning artist, Bruno Mars.
To accompany the single he also shares the official music video for “That’s You.” Directed by Nick Walker (Future, Ella Mai, Playboi Carti) and shot in his native New Orleans, the video follows Lucky through the local streets as he meets beautiful women who he takes home as a sacrifice to the siren woman who controls his heart. Underlined by supernatural themes, Lucky explores ideas of lust in the powerfully introspective and cinematic video. The video treatment and creative was conceptualized by Lucky in collaboration with Walker.
When asked about “That’s You,” Lucky shared: “I sang my heart out on ‘That’s You.’ I felt like I was on the moon. I want people to think about that one person they just can’t be without when they listen. Hopefully that person is a good person.”
The highly anticipated release comes after Lucky saw immense success with his critically acclaimed sophomore album released in 2022, Candydrip, which received a Grammy nomination for the Best R&B Album earlier this year. Candydrip included his breakout single “Over” which was his first single to break into the Billboard Hot 100. He delivered electrifying performances of the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and on the BET Soul Train Awards.
Lucky Daye skyrocketed to success following the release of his 2018 debut single “Roll Some Mo.” For the last 5 years, Lucky has kept up the momentum, dropping three subsequent projects his debut album Painted, Table For Two EP, and Candydrip, which have all been decorated with GRAMMY nominations and critical acclaim. Beloved by music fans and industry professionals alike, Lucky has secured 11 Grammy nominations and as well as a Grammy win for Best Progressive R&B Album for Table For Two in 2022.
