MARISA LAURO-NORRIS PROMOTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT,INTERNATIONAL MARKETING, DEF JAM RECORDINGS
Marisa Lauro-Norris – a fifteen-year veteran of Def Jam Recordings/UMG and a respected leader in developing and breaking artists all over the world – has been promoted to Senior Vice President, International Marketing, it was announced today by Jeff Harleston, Interim CEO, Def Jam Recordings, a division of Universal Music Group (UMG). In her new role, Lauro-Norris will lead all International Marketing activities at the Def Jam label, overseeing an extensive diversity of campaigns on behalf of its extraordinary artist roster. Based in New York, she will report directly to interim-chairman Harleston.

As SVP of International Marketing for Def Jam Recordings, Marisa Lauro-Norris has spearheaded and overseen the remarkable global effort surrounding superstar Justin Bieber over the past year and a half. Strategically launching the release of Bieber’s Changes album last February with a London fan event – where Justin performed an intimate acoustic set and fan Q&A – Changes went on to debut #1 in the UK & Canada and #1 on Apple Music & iTunes in 85 countries. The album is currently at 4.5M global consumption. Justin’s follow up singles “Holy” and “Anyone” have been met with massive airplay and streaming chart success all over the world – particularly in the UK and Canada – with ex-U.S. territories accounting for over 70 % of Bieber’s streams. His four late-2020 singles have amassed over two billion combined global streams in just four months.
Marisa Lauro-Norris began her career in 2004 with an internship. In the years that followed, Marisa diligently worked her way up the ladder, garnering success with The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Shawn Mendes, and many more. In 2014, Marisa was promoted to Vice President, with the new role of overseeing International Marketing for the Def Jam label. During this time she was responsible for leading successful International campaigns for the label, including breakout hits from Alessia Cara & Logic as well as Kanye West and Justin Bieber .
