MAU Y RICKY OPEN A NEW CHAPTER WITH “TE QUIERO” FEATURING KAPO
Mau y Ricky are officially kicking off a new chapter in their artistic career — one that’s bright, refreshed, and deeply personal. The brothers are announcing their return to Sony Music, this time under a distribution deal in partnership with their own label, Why Club Records — a move they describe as “coming home, with the creative freedom we always dreamed of.”
“We’re happy. We feel like this new era reflects exactly who we are today: two brothers who love making music together” they share.
A Brilliant Close to the Hotel Caracas Chapter
Before this artistic rebirth, Mau y Ricky lived a pivotal creative cycle with their project Hotel Caracas, a more introspective and emotional musical journey that culminated with the EP La Llave.
This period—marked by deeper, more vulnerable, and autobiographical sounds—became a turning point that:
- Reconnected them with Venezuela after nearly 20 years,
- Allowed them to rediscover their longtime fans in an intimate way, and
- Earned them three Latin Grammy nominations, establishing it as one of the most transformative stages of their career.
“Hotel Caracas changed us forever. We reconnected with our roots, with our people, and with ourselves,” they say.
“Te Quiero”: A Statement of Intent
The new era arrives charged with excitement—and that energy can be heard from its very first release: “Te Quiero” featuring Kapo, a track produced by Daramola that serves as a preview of the sound and spirit shaping their upcoming album (still untitled because, as they joke, “we haven’t agreed on one yet”).
In “Te Quiero” Mau y Ricky embrace the freshness, simplicity, and joy that once again define them.
The song glows with warm, light, and infectious production—melding Latin pop melodies with honest, luminous lyrics that capture the pure feeling of being in love:
“Bebé, quererte no es fácil / tú me sonríes y casi siempre caigo…
Le pones pausa a mi cabeza / sin saber, curaste cicatrices…”
The track marks the first of several collaborations with friends who will be part of the new album. “We wanted this era to feel like what we love most: making music surrounded by our people,” they explain.
Spain Will Be the Starting Point
As a preview of this new chapter, the duo has confirmed the first dates of an intimate live format, where they will perform part of the new album before its official release.
The shows will begin in Spain:
- March 5 – Barcelona
- March 7 – Valencia
- March 8 – Madrid

Casablanca Studios: A Creative Beacon in Miami
This new era of light coincides with another milestone for the brothers: the opening of Casablanca, their new studios in Miami.
Designed as an artistic sanctuary, the space will serve as a meeting point for songwriters, producers, and friends—a place where creative sessions, spontaneous collaborations, and new projects can freely unfold.
“We want Casablanca to be a home for music, a place where creativity feels free” says Mau.
Ricky adds, “This is where who we are today is born”.
