MAX CARRA PRESENTS VIAJEMOS EN EL TIEMPO #7 WITH MAU Y RICKY, REIMAGINING THEIR HIT “LA BOCA”

Argentine breakout artist Max Carra continues to expand his musical universe with the release of VIAJEMOS EN EL TIEMPO #7, his cumbia-driven cover project that has already become a signature of his sound.

This time, Max teams up with international duo Mau y Ricky to rework one of their 2019 hits, “La Boca” (Sony Music, 2019), transforming it into a modern, fresh, and highly danceable cumbia. It marks the first collaboration between the three artists, resulting in a natural crossover between Latin pop and tropical rhythm.

“It’s an incredible experience to share this journey with two true giants. It makes me proud that they trusted my project, Viajemos en el Tiempo, from the very beginning. I know that working together, we’re going to take it to the world. And on a personal level, they’re exceptional people. Always grateful,” Max Carra shares.

The release follows Mau y Ricky’s recent visit to Argentina, where they kicked off the year with two standout shows in Buenos Aires at the Billboard Summer Festival and in Córdoba at the Festival de la Avicultura, further strengthening their bond with local fans. During that trip, the duo also appeared as guests on Un Poco de Ruido, one of today’s most-watched podcasts, where their segment went viral on YouTube. Additionally, the brothers surprised audiences with a special appearance on Argentina’s acclaimed edition of MasterChef.

The song arrives alongside a fresh and spontaneous music video filmed on the streets of Miami, where Max, Mau y Ricky cruise through the city aboard a playful truck, conveying closeness, humor, and camaraderie—perfectly aligned with the spirit of the project.

“I first learned about Max some time ago through my wife, who used to play his songs all the time. Now, recording with him here in Casablanca, while he showed us a video of himself at just 12 years old singing ‘La Boca,’ it really moved me to see his journey from such a young age to today. It makes me happy to feel part of that path,” Ricky shares. Mau adds, “feeling like we’re giving new life to our songs, bringing them into cumbia for an audience that may have never heard them before, truly fills our hearts.”

With this new session, Max Carra reinforces the identity of VIAJEMOS EN EL TIEMPO, reviving contemporary hits and giving them new life through cumbia, while bringing together collaborations that cross borders and styles. The result is a current, vibrant sonic proposal designed to connect generations and turn every song into a direct invitation to dance.

Additionally, the brothers are set to perform live at the upcoming Premio Lo Nuestro ceremony on February 19 in Miami, where Mau y Ricky are also nominated for two awards—Pop/Rock Group of the Year and Pop/Urban Collaboration of the Year—marking another major milestone in their career.
