Berlin-based metalcore quartet vianova have shared their latest single, “Whatever Alright“—a blistering fusion of pummeling breakdowns, hypnotic dance grooves, and raw, rap-infused vocal delivery. Inspired by the rhythmic genius of Timbaland, the track weaves infectious percussive patterns into vianova’s signature wall of sound, creating a uniquely dark yet electrifying atmosphere.

“Whatever Alright” is a bleak and cynical anthem that dives headfirst into emotional detachment and the quiet allure of giving up. Rather than offering hope or resolution, the song embraces apathy as a coping mechanism. With its groovy verses delivered in a haunting monotone and sudden shifts into soul-crushing heaviness, the track captures the eerie tension between numbed-out stillness and explosive inner turmoil.

The accompanying music video brings the song’s themes to life through the striking performance of Berlin-based dancer Greta Schuster, who also choreographed the piece. Set in a surreal, schizophrenic dreamscape, Schuster dances her way through mundane routines with a mechanical grace that gradually unravels into chaotic expression.

The song’s club-ready beats pulse with kinetic energy, making it as fit for the dance floor as it is for a chaotic mosh pit. Mixed by Leon Schmidt and once again mastered by the legendary Jens Bogren, “Whatever Alright” is a bold statement from a band unafraid to disrupt norms and reshape the sonic landscape.
