Michelle Kash Shares Reimagined Billboard Dance Charting Hit “Personal Jesus (Stash Konig Remix)”

Michelle Kash, New Music, Music, Singer, Songwriter, Aaron Kamin

Singer-songwriter Michelle Kash has shared a new remix of her breakout cover “Personal Jesus” alongside an official music video. Personal Jesus (Stash Konig Remix) breathes new life into the track that put her on the map, and signals that something bigger is on the way.

Kash’s reimagining of the Depeche Mode classic climbed to #4 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in 2020, a milestone that felt both earned and eerily timed. On the same day her version dropped, Depeche Mode was announced as Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, cementing the song’s place in music history just as she was staking her own claim to it. Call it kismet, Kash was already proving the song had more life left to give.

The cover was never calculated. Drawn to its emotional architecture, she made it her opener. When producer Aaron Kamin (The Calling) heard what she was doing with it, he encouraged her to record it. The chart position followed. The Stash Konig Remix now gives the track a second life, leaning into the song’s dark magnetism.

“The song explores the savior dynamic, the power we hold over each other, and the weight of being someone’s everything. That felt deeply true to me” shares Kash.

What separates Kash from the pack isn’t genre or formula,  it’s source material. She didn’t come up through a conservatory or a competition show. Her voice was shaped through meditation and a spiritual healing journey, and that foundation runs through everything she makes. The result is music that sounds cinematic and soulful without trying to be either, honest in a way that’s hard to manufacture, even when the song is someone else’s.

The remix arrives ahead of new original material on the horizon.

Off the stage, Kash brings that same conviction to causes she believes in: animal welfare, arts access, and the work of organizations including the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Janie’s Fund, MusiCares, Animal Haven, One Simple Wish, and Second Chance Rescue NY.
