Walking into Bayou Music Center on May 28th, you could already tell it was going to be one of those shows. The line was wrapped, people were loud, and nobody was really standing still. It felt more like everyone had been waiting all day for this, not just pulling up to another concert.

The openers, Tommy Richman and WizTheMC, did what they needed to do got the crowd moving, got people engaged. By the time they finished, the room felt ready.

Then The Kid LAROI came out, and the energy just jumped. No long intro, no dragging it out he got straight into it. From the start, the crowd was already rapping every word back to him, which honestly set the tone for the whole night.

What made the show hit wasn’t just the music it was how real it felt. He wasn’t overdoing anything or trying too hard to control the moment. He’d perform a song, then just take a second and let the crowd carry it. When “Stay” and “Without You” came on, you could barely even hear him at some points because the crowd was that loud. Those were the moments that stuck.

He also did a good job balancing everything. One minute it’s high energy, people jumping, phones in the air. Next minute it slows down and you can feel the shift in the room. It never felt forced though it all flowed naturally.

Production-wise, it was simple, but it worked. The lighting did enough to match the vibe without taking attention away from him. Some songs had brighter, fast-moving lights, and others felt darker and more focused. It fit the mood instead of trying to steal it.

From a photographer’s point of view, this was a fun one to shoot. A lot of movement, real reactions, and moments that didn’t feel staged. You could catch genuine crowd shots all night without trying too hard.

By the end of the set, nobody really wanted it to be over. He didn’t drag the ending out either just kept the energy up and left it all out there. The crowd stayed loud all the way through.

Overall, it didn’t feel like a perfectly polished show and that’s what made it good. It felt real. Just a packed room, loud fans, and an artist who actually connected with them.
