Migos, a Grammy-nominated trio from Atlanta, Georgia consisting of Takeoff (Kirshnik Khari Ball), Quavo (Quavious Keyate Marshall) and Offset (Kiari Kendrell Cephus) took home the award for ‘Favorite Pop/Rock Group’ against Imagine Dragons and Maroon 5 at the American Music Awards on October 9th, 2018. This achievement was insane and very well deserved after the incredible year Migos has had. They had the release of their second consecutive number one album on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart, CULTURE II which has already been streamed over 1 billion times and is RIAA Certified Platinum according to Nielson Music and have had their share of live television performances.
Although Takeoff was missing in action at the American Music Awards and his presence was certainly missed, reports explained that he was in the studio recording. This shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise, finding out that another Migos member is doing his own thing with the side-solo projects. After all, Quavo had been working on pumping out his debut solo album Q U A V O H U N C H O which was released to the public on Friday October 12th, 2018 via Quality Control Music / Motown Records / Capitol.
Just days before the release of that debut album, Quavo shared his new futuristic video for the “Bubblegum” track, directed by himself and Daps which had fans going wild. The tech in the video is out-of-this-world and has the feel of a luxurious Sci-Fi film.
Overall, it’s clear that the trio is doing fantastic as a group, as well as individuals. Migos is currently on tour with Drake on the Aubrey and The Three Amigos Tour, check out the remaining dates below to see if they’re stopping in your city!
