MILO J PRESENTS HIS NEW MUSICAL MASTERPIECE LA VIDA ERA MÁS CORTA

At just 18 years old, MILO J, the award-winning rapper and songwriter, has become one of the most influential voices of Argentina’s new generation of artists. Today, he releases his new masterpiece, LA VIDA ERA MÁS CORTA, through Sony Music Latin, a 15-track album that takes listeners on a musical journey weaving folkloric and tango sounds, bandoneons, and ancestral chants without falling into the traditional. The album embraces Argentine culture while bringing it into the present, reinterpreting its roots with honesty, modernity, and deep emotion.
“This is both an album and a purpose. They are songs, but also an intimate and urgent declaration. A manifesto,” affirms Milo J.
Milo J’s Manifesto
Life was shorter as a nonlinear story and testimony of other bodies.
My zamba [genre of folkloric music from Argentina] went to shit
And I see faces covered by shadows.
Shadows that color our story.
The color of legends.
My ID starts in 47.
And I don’t know myself beyond screenshots.
I inherited a legacy of immense problems.
From the seventies and nameless.
This album is testimony to my dream that has now changed, accompanied by a pessimism that lies very well.
The screenshots are small moments that suggest some reason to stay alive.
There are some nightmares so accomplished that they ended up in songs.
All this is so that pessimism doesn’t make us remain in the screenshots.
With a verse that we are near the end.
Life is short, yes, but maybe it’s better than making it long by not giving it a purpose.
LA VIDA ERA MÁS CORTA is a gathering that brings together Milo J’s voice, poetry, and strength, inhabited by a multitude of sounds and testimonies. He lives through both personal and collective memory as he builds stories of his own and voices that transcend time. The album brings together nights, legends, guitars, thoughts, friends, glances, scars, laughter, frustration, what he loves, what hurts, and generations of heirs of stories that never stopped speaking and singing. Inside are memories he never lived, roots scarred by Latin America’s dark and oppressive times, “those massive, nameless seventies problems.” And in his work, the tattoos under the skin, the marks of years that were not his yet belong to him all the same, are transformed into songs.
Milo J is a soul made of music, echoing from Santiago del Estero, the “mother of cities,” and the generosity of Latin America’s indispensable voices. He takes it all, kneads it with his land, his love, his neighborhood, his restlessness, his intelligence, his nightmares, and his commitment. More news on Milo J coming soon!
