The Californian quartet Mom Jeans stopped on their Sweet Tooth-World Tour with Oso Oso at the Badehaus in Berlin for a sold out show. They were joined on three of their german dates by the german punk-rock band Hal Johnson, including the Berlin date.

The evening started off with said Hal Johnson. Since their set started a bit earlier than the official start of the show, the club was filled by only a few people and slowly started to fill up towards the end. They gave a powerful performance, with stronger vocals and guitars and set the tone of the evening.

When it was time for Oso Oso to hit the stage, the room was already packed. The band surrounding frontman Jade Lilitri filled their set with energetic faster and a bit slower songs, with melodic and rock guitar elements and partly strong lyrics that thrilled the audience either way. The fans answered with lots of singing and jumping along, like your typical pop punk/rock show. After that, it was time for Mom Jeans to play. Since the club was fully packed, even the bands had difficulties entering and leaving the stage to prepare for the show.

Mom Jeans started off their set with a hand full of sad songs, stirred things up with faster, happier songs with scruffy guitars and a really fun sound that is overall great to listen to. During either of those, the energy of the crowd was high and the club seemed even fuller than before. They jumped and sang along even more than before, they were even some crowd surfers at the end, even if the venue isn’t necessarily the biggest for those. Their show ended on like they said another set of sad songs. But even during those the crowd gave their all, joining the partly disarming honest lyrics of the band. Mom Jeans offered a short but enjoyable, rambunctious set, with only one song as an encore, which the cows didn’t seem to mind.
