MULTI-PLATINUM ARTIST RUSS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “BEST FRIEND” FT. MELII

Ahead of joining forces on Russ’ upcoming tour, the multi-platinum artist releases his new single “Best Friend” featuring Melii. Sampling the 2000s classic “Baby, I’m Back” by Baby Bash and Akon, “Best Friend,” produced by Boi-1da, Fierce and BDRM, features Russ and Melii’s fresh take on the iconic nostalgic beat.

On the release of “Best Friend” Russ shares, “Boi1da sent me this beat and I knew it was the one. Baby Bash and Akon’s “Baby, I’m Back” was one of my favorite songs as a kid, so when I heard the sample, jumping on this track was a no brainer. Melii has one of the coolest tones and deliveries and I’ve been waiting for the perfect song to send to her. I flew to NYC and we recorded her verse in person. We’re going on tour together this summer and we’re going to perform this every night.”

The new single comes on the heels of Russ’ recent collaboration with his other supporting tourmate 6lack on their song “Workin on Me”. Russ also recently released an EP featuring the fan-voted tracks “That’s My Girl” and “Tired”.

The multi-hyphenate artist doesn’t stop there. Russ recently announced his second book “it was you all along,” slated for release via HarperCollins on June 4th and debuted his clothing line inspired by his chart-topping album SANTIAGO at the KidSuper store in Brooklyn last week. Produced by Live Nation, Russ’ 10-date North American tour kicks off on May 31st in Seattle, WA at Climate Pledge Arena, with stops in Oakland, Inglewood, Denver, Toronto, and more before wrapping up on June 28th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
