mxmtoon Concludes The Rising Tour With A Sold-Out London Show at Electric Brixton

American singer-songwriter mxmtoon, aka Maia, concluded her Rising Tour at Electric Brixton in London on Monday night (17th October). Supported by fellow American singer-songwriter Ricky Montgomerymxmtoon spent most of the euphoric evening showing off songs from her latest album Rising.

The show started with a set by Ricky Montgomery, who was joined on stage by their guitarist. The crowd were ecstatic to see the talented musician taking to the stage and set the perfect mood for the evening with their melodic vocals.

Soon after the opener, the lights dimmed once more as the talented artist mxmtoon took to the stage. Starting off strong, she played Falling For You, showing off her captivating voice. The atmosphere in the venue was so loving and welcoming, the entire crowd were just so happy to be able to witness Maia’s stunning vocals live. She went on to play her tracks Frown, Sad Disco and her very popular track No Faker, which was featured in the touching LGBTQ+ Netflix series Heartstopper. As expected, this song received an incredible reaction from her dedicated fans. Maia’s stage presence was insanely captivating, she really knows how to put on a show. Maia proudly danced around with the a Pride flag and it was a beautiful sight!

A true highlight of her set was the acoustic portion, which solely consisted of Maia and her ukulele, it really showcased her spectacular talent. All her songs are based off her own experiences, including plenty of touching songs about her loved ones. Anyone listening to the singer songwriters music will find a lyric they relate to in some shape or form and that’s rare. There was a beautiful fan project during her final song before the encoure, Bon Iver, which consisted of the dedicated fans holding up rainbow phone flash’s. As a final treat for her fans, Maia performed two well loved fan favourites Prom Dress and Mona Lisa, and it was a perfect way to end such a perfect night. We certainly look forward to continue to watch Maia’s career blossom.
