NATANAEL CANO HONORS LEGEND JUAN GABRIEL WITH RENDITION OF HIS CLASSIC HIT “AMOR ETERNO”
THE LATIN GRAMMYS® NOMINEE RELEASES THE HEARTFELT SINGLE IN CELEBRATION OF DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
Multi-platinum superstar Natanael Cano will mesmerize fans with his rendition of “Amor Eterno,” one of his all time favorite songs. The Latin GRAMMY®-nominated artist pays heartfelt tribute to one of Latin music legend, Juan Gabriel. The track is now available on all digital platforms.
Sonically, Cano brings Juan Gabriel’s hit into the world of corridos tumbados, featuring the pervasive chords of the requinto and the nostalgia-infused charcheta, all tied together with a heart-wrenching performance by the Hermosillo, Sonora native.
With “Amor Eterno,” Natanael Cano shows his deep love for Mexican culture and presents his fans with a fresh take on the Mexican classic, perfect for remembering loved ones who have passed during the Day of the Dead celebrations.
“This is one of those songs that stays in your memory forever. It brings back so many childhood memories for me. I’ve wanted to record this track for a while now to pay homage to the great JuanGa and my other idols, like Ariel Camacho. I like that it coincides with the Day of the Dead because I feel many people will identify with the song—we all have loved ones who have passed on,” Cano says.

The song was written by Juan Gabriel and popularized by legendary Spanish singer Rocio Durcal in 1984. According to the “Divo de Juárez,” it expresses the deep grief he felt upon receiving news of his mother’s death while on tour. He transformed his sorrow into song, and “Amor Eterno” was born.
The hit has transcended barriers and is one of the most globally recognized Spanish-language songs. In 2024, the U.S. Library of Congress included it in its National Recording Registry.
The release comes three weeks after Cano celebrated his first Latin GRAMMY® nomination. The renowned father of corridos tumbados is up for the golden gramophone in the Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album category for “Nata Montana” which has amassed 7.3 billion streams to date. He’s also a finalist for the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards in the “Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Solo,” and “Regional Mexican Album of the Year” categories.

Natanael continues a year full of accomplishments, dominating both charts and ticket sales. The multi-platinum star broke attendance records in Mexico during his August concert in San Luis Potosí, drawing more than 310,000 people to the National Potosina Fair (FENAPO). Before that he achieved a historic sold-out show at the GNP Seguros Stadium (formerly known as Foro Sol) in Mexico City, captivating 65,000 attendees with a nearly three-hour performance. That night, he became the first corridos tumbados artist to livestream a concert via Disney+ setting record breaking views.
Cano will continue his Tumbados Tour through the end of 2024 and is also working on a new album.
