The prolific electronic duo, Overmono – Tom and Ed Russell – return today to release the explosive new single “Blow Out” via XL Recordings. The single follows their long-awaited debut album Good Lies, which was released in May of this year to huge acclaim (“UK rave history is distilled to perfection”  The Guardian). Debuting at #11 in the UK Charts, Good Lies is widely regarded as one of the greatest electronic records released in recent years.

While Good Lies saw Overmono hone in on the intricate layers of their deft productions, new single “Blow Out” is an out-there celebration of the bass. The track premiered during Overmono’s debut set at Coachella to a rapturous response and has since grown into a monumental moment in their live show which they have taken to some of the most credible festivals across the globe including Primavera Sound, Fuji Rock, All Together Now, Down The Rabbit Hole, a headline slot at South-London’s GALA and most recently, to Lost Village where they performed to ecstatic crowd. “Blow Out” is rich in bass-heavy textures, and the infectious vocal hook makes it perfect for the autumn and winter raving to come.

Speaking on the single, Overmono says:

“Blow Out was the first thing we made after finishing the album. After that process of being quite methodical, we had an urge to write something that was really out and out lairy and wanted the bass to sound like it was playing out of a blown-out speaker. The track was finished the day before our show at Coachella and we thought there was probably no better place to test it out. It’s become one of our favourite parts of the live show since and we’ll never forget playing it to a packed-out home crowd at GALA just after the album had been released.”

Next week, Overmono embark on an extensive headline tour across the USA, Europe, and the UK. The 20-day exertion will see them go to the likes of Atlanta and Austin for the first time. They will also take over Manchester’s Warehouse Project for an Overmono Presents, and finish off with a sold-out headline show at iconic London venue The Roundhouse.
