Pakistani Hindu Refugees

Along a secluded road lies a shanty consisting of about 50 odd mud and straw huts housing Hindu refugees hailing from Pakistan with an uncertain fate. The scene from outside is still better and things worsen as one steps in as the path in between the houses are more of filth than road.

Men with great struggle managed to find work as labourers but their children and women are forced to stay home with no occupation or education until they themselves built a makeshift school for providing some basic education with help from NGO’s. Rains were welcomed in the Indian capital as it gave respite from the scorching sun, but these people are vary of the rains as their roofs leak and it only results in sleepless night rather than a pleasant one.
