PEGGY GOU COLLABORATES WITH LENNY KRAVITZ ON NEW SINGLE

Artist, producer, DJ and cultural icon Peggy Gou releases “I Believe In Love Again”, the highly-anticipated follow up to her global summer hit single “(It Goes Like) Nanana. A truly unique collaboration with legendary Grammy award-winning artist Lenny Kravitz, “I Believe In Love Again” is the sound of an artist who continues to defy categorisation: a timeless R&B-tinged anthem that reflects Gou’s diverse range of influences and open-ended musical philosophy. On it, we hear Kravitz as we’ve rarely heard him before.

“The 90s have had such a huge influence on my music.” says Gou, “People know about my love of the dance/house/rave scene from that time but I’ve always been a big R&B fan, and also a huge fan of Lenny. I listened endlessly to his 1998 album “5” – my personal favourite – but his whole discography is great, totally timeless. He came into the studio and transformed the guide vocal into magic, writing new lyrics and creating that incredible guitar riff. “I Believe In Love Again” is a strong message of positivity and hope, and we hope everyone feels that when they hear the song.”

To celebrate the release, Peggy hosted a day and night pop-up event in Seoul earlier today, with a guerrilla merch shop selling exclusive Peggy Goods in Itaewon by day before an after-party at Yongsan venue FERMENTS at night. The roadblocked event saw fans queueing around several blocks to glimpse a curated line up of some of Gou’s favourite local DJs and a surprise set from Peggy herself. “I Believe In Love Again” is the second single to be revealed from Peggy Gou’s long-awaited debut album, which is due for release in 2024 on XL Recordings. It follows the huge success of “(It Goes Like) Nanana”, widely regarded as the international song of the summer and a catalyst for Gou’s biggest year to date. Released in June to widespread acclaim, “(It Goes Like) Nanana” quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. Alongside in-person pop up events that shut down the streets of London and New York, the single has already racked up close to half a billion streams, topped the singles charts in the Netherlands, Belgium and Greece, and spent months in the top 10 of the UK singles charts and at number 1 on the Global Shazam Chart. The track also entered the top 40 of Billboard’s Global 200, and topped the Billboard Dance Airplay chart, marking Peggy Gou’s first #1 at US radio.. It has become a viral social media phenomenon and continues to soundtrack sunsets and sunrises the world over.

Meanwhile, Peggy Gou spent 2023 cementing her status as one of the world’s most in-demand DJs, someone who can headline anywhere from the world’s biggest festival stages to the most credible underground events. These appearances included the fourth instalment of Peggy’s own 8000 capacity Pleasure Garden festival in London’s Finsbury Park among a host of global sold-out events.
