Rachel Chinouriri Shares New Single ‘Make believe’

Rachel Chinouriri shares new single “Make believe” from her highly anticipated second album I think I spoke too soon, out on October 16 via Parlophone/Warner Records. “Make believe” is a sensual, darkly shimmering cut that beneath its surface explores feelings of self-worth in romantic relationships:

“Make believe is about a side to me that I believe to be empowering, but really I’m masking my insecurities and betraying my self worth with obsession. Though it’s more sensual feeling, it’s actually about never holding my own boundaries and allowing someone who clearly hates me to have access to me at any moment,” Rachel shares.

‘Make believe’ arrives as a second taste of I think I spoke too soon, following the iridescent, synth pop of the album’s lead single ‘One song away from crying’. I think I spoke too soon picks up where Chinouriri’s critically acclaimed 2024 debut album What A Devastating Turn of Events left off, and arrives as a marked evolution of her unique alt indie pop sound into expanded creative realms.

Tonight Rachel plays in Paris, the latest in her limited run of global headline album shows which have seen her perform so far in Los Angeles and New York (with London, Dublin and Brussels postponed due to illness), rounding out in Berlin and Amsterdam ahead of her Australia dates in Sydney and Melbourne in early 2027.

Rachel recently performed at Olivia Rodrigo’s history-making Daisy Chain Fields Festival alongside the likes of Chappell Roan, Doechii, Stevie Nicks and many more. She will be supporting Gracie Abrams’ North American arena tour this December and has been announced for Lollapalooza India in January.

So far this year Rachel has also supported Florence + The Machine’s arena tour dates in the US and Ireland, played with Wolf Alice at London’s Finsbury Park and performed standout sets at Governors Ball, All Things Go Toronto and Bonnaroo festivals.

Rachel has also this week been announced as the musical guest on episode 3 of the new series of SNL UK, appearing alongside guest host Amelia Dimoldenberg on September 26.
