Rapsody Unleashes MadRaps EP — A Powerful 2-Pack Collaboration With Acclaimed Music Producer Madlib
GRAMMY-Award winning artist Rapsody releases her blistering new 2-song EP MadRaps, a collaboration with legendary producer Madlib, out now via We Each Other / Roc Nation Distribution. Following the release of the limited-edition physical versions, the EP is now available on streaming platforms.
The EP features two tracks, “Avon Thru The Wire” and “Daddy’s Girl”, showcasing Rapsody at her sharpest, blending soul-deep vulnerability with razor-wire lyricism. Over Madlib’s textured, sample-rich production, Rapsody channels the voices of women rarely heard, the ghosts of the block, and hip-hop’s defiant spirit of resistance.
On “Avon Thru The Wire,” Rapsody personifies the duality of street loyalty and personal growth with lines like “You moved up, evolved / I got shot five times, you still called,” weaving memory, trauma, and love into a street memoir. In “Daddy’s Girl,” she takes aim at the industry’s gatekeeping and double standards, declaring “I still ain’t got my roses, I’m waiting / I bought some vases,” a pointed reminder of her fight for recognition in a male-dominated space.
In support of the release, limited-edition merch, exclusive vinyl, and cassette drops are now available via www.iamrapsody.com, paired with a grassroots street campaign paying homage to hip-hop’s analog roots.
This fall, Rapsody joins Joey Bada$$ as a special guest on his highly anticipated Dark Aura Tour, alongside Ab-Soul. The North American trek kicks off in October and will make stops in major cities before wrapping up in Philadelphia on November 21st.
MapRaps EP arrives as a raw, unfiltered bridge between Rapsody’s GRAMMY-winning album Please Don’t Cry and forthcoming music. Following her BET Award nominations and widespread critical acclaim, this release cements her place among hip-hop’s most elite lyricists.
