REDD. RELEASES NEW SINGLE + MUSIC VIDEO “LIFE”
Returning with bold new single “life”, its accompanying video and a pair of just-announced launch shows, REDD. steps confidently into a bigger, bolder chapter. This next era tracking the evolution of an artist whose fearless creativity, momentum and instinct for pushing boundaries has quickly made them one of the most compelling new voices in Australian music.
Written in London and co-written and produced by acclaimed producer Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Fontaines D.C. , Kylie Minogue), the new single explores themes of gender dysphoria, coming of age and identity. Abstract and punchy, “life” slips into taut, wiry new wave verses before switching gears into a half speed chorus and a squealing synth solo before gently floating off into the cosmos. Weird, wacky and unmistakably unique, the track vibrates on a freak-quency of its own.
REDD. shares, “When I first wrote the song I had a completely different verse one and two. The only thing that stuck was the chorus. It’s very fitting how Frankenstein-ed this whole song was, seeing as that was the main message in the chorus “stitching all the pieces that make me”. I believe that’s what a huge part of life is. Learning, experiencing and discovering new things about who you are, to create and form your sense of self. “
“life’s” writing process kicked off as a jam in the recording session with Dan on guitar, REDD. on bass and good friend Eric Zulic on drums. After 10 minutes of playing, Carey went through the recording, chopped it up and resampled the recording, with the jagged pulse heard throughout the verse.
“life” is unique in both sound and construction capturing REDD., at their most confidence and clear-eyed. Directed by Cole Surrey, the creative force behind many of the visuals from REDD.’s debut mixtape, RAUNCH., the official video sees REDD. trying to find their identity in search of something that feels truly them.
With over 3.3 million global streams in their first year of releasing music, REDD. has quickly established themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging artists. Named on Rolling Stone‘s Future of Music 2026 list, they’ve built a community of over 49,000 social followers and their music being featured in the world of film, television and gaming. Their single ‘MESSY.’ was recently included in Prime’s global hit series, Off Campus, and the #1 box office film Scary Movie 6, where REDD. attended the Red Carpet Premiere event in LA and watched the sync placement for the very first time.
An unmissable live act, REDD. is set for a run of European appearances this August and September, with today’s announcement adding headline shows at Paradiso in Amsterdam (NLD) and at Cross in Prague (CZE). These new dates join an already confirmed schedule that includes Germany’s Obstwiesenfestival and Reeperbahn Festival. REDD. will also appear at NYE ON THE HILL Festival in South Gippsland, Victoria.
To celebrate the release of ‘life’, REDD. will play two FREE launch parties in Melbourne on July 17 and Sydney on July 18 before heading to the UK for 3 months.
