Rema’s “Calm Down” Achieves RIAA Platinum Certification

Still basking in the incredible success of his debut album, Rave & Roses, Afrorave trailblazer Rema officially achieves RIAA Certified Platinum status for his song “Calm Down” and the alternate version “Calm Down (with Selena Gomez)” with the track simultaneously reaching the #35 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week and last. Moreover, “Calm Down,” currently occupies the #1 spot on the Global ex-US Billboard chart, as well as 6th on Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits chart, 16th at Top 40 radio, and sits atop the US World Music Streaming chart at #1 having held the spot since last October and sustaining a 49 week run on the chart. The song has amassed over 1 million track equivalent units sold and touts upwards of 7.7 billion total streams. Additionally, “Calm Down” made history with its music video which is now the all-time most viewed video from an Afrobeats artist on Youtube.

Upon release, Rave & Roses debuted at No.1 in over sixteen countries, achieved A-List at BBC 1xtra, went Top 10 on Billboard’s World Music chart, and Top 10 on Apple Music & Shazam charts. In doing so, Rema earned the highest-charting debut Afrobeats album in Nigerian history. Rave & Roses spans 16-tracks and includes a handpicked selection of features from U.S singer Chris Brown, 6LACK, UK rapper AJ Tracey & French songstress Yseult.
