RISING FLORIDA STAR DUMAR 1K WANTS A “HOMEBODY” ON HIS NEW SINGLE & MUSIC VIDEO
Rising Florida star Dumar 1K continues to build his momentum today with the release of his newest single “Homebody”. The assertive new cut follows Dumar’s fast-rising “L’s and P’s”, the Real Boston Richey collaboration released in January, and is accompanied by its official music video.
The usually grandiose Dumar is particular about the vibe he’s going for on his new song, declaring “I need a homebody chick” on its tone-setting refrain. Though the track’s boisterous 808s make the Dumar fan feel right at home in his Florida trap atmosphere, the proud Jacksonville rep trades his spending spree escapades for a slightly more moderate tone as he anticipates spending romantic time. The energetic visual showcases the honest difficulty a person might have in love, with Dumar quickly flashing through multiple positive and negative encounters with dates.
Dumar, the 25-year-old newly signed to Against Da Grain/Epic Records in 2024, has steadily built a case to be recognized as one of Florida’s most reliable new exports. His methodical ascent dates back to the early 2020s, and his contagious energy and aspirational themes have attracted a wide swath of collaborators and professional suitors. He notably released a remix of his song “Penny Pincher” with G Herbo, Luh Tyler, and BLP Kosher back in November.
“Blessed and highly flavored, not favored,” is how Dumar himself summarizes his come-up, which is certainly much rosier than his humble beginnings: Dumar was the victim of a shooting incident in 2018 that nearly thwarted his run before it began. Just a year later, he is one of the most buzzed-about rappers in Florida.
