Rising Yamuna

With the onset of monsoon in northern India, some reservoirs get out of control. Hatnikund barrage in Haryana releases 6lac cusec Of water into the river Yamuna.

In Delhi there are many shanties and huts on the River Yamuna bed and due to release of water the level of the river in Delhi reaches the danger zone forcing many to evacuate their homes and take refuge at the road side.

Government provides shelters and these kids risk being caught in traffic and other hazards of insect bites etc. These children are out of school during this time and most play in the waters of Yamuna and again it’s risky as they do it without any watch.
